ABC powder-based fire extinguishers are highly versatile, effective against all classes of fires—Class A (solid materials), Class B (flammable liquids), Class C (gases), and electrical fires. We supply ABC dry powder extinguishers from leading brands like Kanex, Safex, and Minimax.

These extinguishers use a specialized Mono Ammonium Phosphate (MAP) powder, which quickly suppresses fires by interrupting the chemical reaction. The dry chemical mix, typically composed of MAP and ammonium sulfate in various ratios, ensures effective fire suppression across a range of fire types.

How ABC Powder Based Fire Extinguishers Work

ABC dry chemical powder works by creating an insulating layer on Class A fires (wood, paper, plastics) when it melts at approximately 350-400°F. It effectively suppresses these fires by cooling and covering the burning materials. For Class B fires (flammable liquids like oil, propane, gasoline), the powder disrupts the chemical reaction by coating the surface and preventing further combustion. It’s also non-conductive, making it safe for use on electrical fires (Class C) by preventing electrical conductivity.
